Founded and led by Ryan and Amber Griffin, Mountain Sky Builders was built on a shared passion: to craft homes that reflect the people who live in them. What began as a small, local building company has grown into a trusted name in Western North Carolina for custom homes, renovations, and boutique building services. Ryan’s background in construction management and Amber’s professional certifications in project management and operations combine to form a team that blends technical know-how with organizational precision.
Together, they have guided Mountain Sky Builders into a company known for end-to-end service - from initial design and architectural planning to interiors, cabinetry, roofing, and even home furnishing. Clients don’t just get a builder; they get a dedicated partnership.

About the Owners
Ryan Griffin, PMP, CSSBB
Ryan has a true passion for building with a keen eye for detail and a standard of perfection. From Western Carolina University Ryan obtained his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and his master’s degree in Project Management. In addition to the construction industry, he has served in the aeronautical, manufacturing, financial, and insurance industries. He has a breadth of experience in managing projects and specializes in engineering, design, build, quality control, and labor management.
Amber Griffin, PMP, CSSBB
Amber excels in partnering with our clients to facilitate making their dreams a reality. Amber obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Furman University and her master’s degree in Project Management from Western Carolina University. In addition to the construction industry, she has served in the manufacturing and financial industries. Amber specializes in scheduling, cost control, financials, sales, customer service, and interior design/furnishing.
Community Commitment
We are proud to call Saluda, NC, our home. Our projects can be found throughout the region (from lakefront remodels to mountain retreats) and each reflects not only our clients’ dreams but our pride in local craftsmanship. As we grow, we remain committed to strengthening our community by hiring local carpenters, collaborating with area architects, and contributing to the region’s architectural character.
That commitment extends beyond building homes. Mountain Sky Builders is a supporter of Outreach (Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing food, financial assistance, and essential support to families across Polk County. Amber Griffin also serves on the board of Outreach, helping guide its mission to empower neighbors facing financial hardship. Supporting Outreach allows us to invest not only in beautiful homes, but in the well-being of the community we’re proud to serve.
